The Arrow and the Song(Poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

 

I shot an arrow into the air,

It fell to earth, I knew not where;

For,so swiftly it flew, the sight

Could not follow it in its flight.

 

I breathed a song into the air,

It fell to earth, I knew not where;

For, who has sight so keen and strong?

 

Long, long afterward, in an oak

I found the arrow, still  unbroke;

And the song, from beginning to end,

I found again in the heart of a friend.

 
고교시절 <석진복>선생님게서 가르쳐 주셨던 영문시가 지금의
우리나이에서 읽어보면, 시의 내용과 담겨있는 의미가 한결 공감할
수 있는 것 같아, 올려보니 시를 읽는 즐거움을 함께하시기 바람니다.
